I live in Denver, CO with my loving wife Jenn and our beautiful children Leah, Oliver and Owen. In 2012, Anthony Tolcher, M.D. and the ThriveWell Cancer Foundation launched the the San Antonio 1000 Cancer Genome Project, an ambitious cancer research project that no other group or city has done before. The bold initiative performs whole genome sequencing on tumors from patients with the 10 most common cancers in San Antonio. The genomic data linked to patients’ clinical course will help the researchers better understand which genetic errors are important for prognosis, which respond to currently available therapy, and which ones may be important in the future to develop medicines needed to treat cancer effectively. The data collected will be an enormous resource for cancer doctors across the globe and will bring fresh ideas from outside the current cancer research community.
MY GOAL IS TO PLAY 100 HOLES
Awarded the 2009 MGWA Club of the Year, the course at Rockaway River Country Club is of moderate length; an easy walking course with but one climb at the 10th where there is a comfortable half-way house and a magnificent view down the Rockaway River. The front nine on the east bank of the river demands good length: the back nine on the west bank is slightly shorter and demands accuracy. Truly, the course is “tough for the tigers, easy for the rabbits”, challenging for the low handicapper, pleasurable for the average player.
