Van Nguyen

Van Nguyen lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, one of the best places in the world to be an avid walking golfer. Van started playing golf when he was 11 years-old by pure accident. Considering his family makeup - parents were refugees from Vietnam, working class household, not a single golfer in his family - no one would have predicted that he'd turn into the world’s biggest golf addict. Currently, Van is a graduate student studying healthcare policy at the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley. Van is playing for two organizations: 1) NCGA Foundation: Youth on Course and 2) East Bay Asian Youth Center (EBAYC).

NCGA Foundation: Youth on Course / East Bay Asian Youth Center

Note: Van Nguyen is hiking for these two local causes. The NCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course (YOC) initiative offers deserving youth across Northern California the opportunity to play some of the area’s best courses for $5 or less while kids put to use the life skills and values training they learned in their Youth on Course certified program. EBAYC believes that when neighborhoods support the healthy development of children, youth, and families, young people will grow to be safe, smart, and socially responsible.
