Brett Morrissy

In January 2013, myself and 7 golf mates completed the inaugural Hundred Hole Hike Downunder, the best I could manage was 104 holes, I hope to better that on Thursday, 23 January 2014. Motivated and inspired by our mate Blackers, we decided that the reason we are doing this is to support those with an Acquired Brain Injury, whose lives have been changed forever, often in an instant, and with a lifetime of challenges ahead of them, our aim, in partnership with Karingal Foundation, is to build an ABI CLUBHOUSE for our community, a place where those affected by an ABI, their family, support network and friends and can pop in somewhere they are welcomed to take a break from their daily routine. I am fortunate to be able to play golf, and love playing golf and plan to push my body to its limits to walk and play as many golf holes in one day at the magnificent Thirteenth Beach Golf Club in Barwon Heads, Victoria, Australia - for our second Hundred Hole Hike Downunder - to raise as much money as possible, and to raise awareness of Acquired Brain Injury, affecting one in 45 Australians, 2/3's of which are men. I ask that you provide me with the motivation to try to complete this mammoth challenge by pledging your support, and committing to donate to our wonderful cause - perhaps you would like to support in other ways also? We will need caddies throughout the day (a very difficult job I am told just to keep up with us)....for now, I need to concentrate on training and getting the km's into our legs. My goal is to get those extra 4 holes this time to complete 6 rounds - so 108 holes is the target!! I encourage you to be creative with your pledges, give me something to chase, think bonuses, incentives, etc. A great example was provided from one of our Yanky mates, 50c per hole, $5 birdie, $20 for rounds below handicap (current 6), and the per hole rate rose to $2 per hole for all those after 100 - make up your own. Come along on the day if you can, walk a few holes with us, help us look for a ball, offer to caddy, encourage and support, together we can make a difference. Thank you in advance.
