Bobby Tabb

A first grade teacher blessed with an awesome wife and two amazing kids, I find golf to be a place where I can unwind and decompress. With the help of an annual membership at Sunset Grove Golf Course the past two years, I have seen a dramatic improvement in my game moving my handicap from the mid 20s down to 17.1. In addition to golfing and teaching, I enjoy reading, writing, watching sports, playing board games and doing laundry. Some of my unusual skills are peeling oranges, crafting improv songs on my guitar, making up funny book character voices and writing with both hands at the same time. I cannot do a cartwheel.
MY GOAL IS TO PLAY 180 HOLES

I'm supporting

Angels Making a Difference / St. Jude's Children's Hospital

Note: Sunset Grove Golf Club participants are hiking for these two causes. At time of fulfillment, the pledger can choose how to split pledged funds between the two causes. Angels Making A Difference assists in the support of our local Oregon cancer patients and families with a vast array of resources. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

My friend, Phil, asked me today at what point I decided I would never want to play golf again.

Good luck to everyone hiking on Monday. I hope you are energized by your experience and make lots of birdies!

Inspiration from my Dad

As Father's Day approaches and the US Open turns to the weekend, there will be plenty of talk about the special bonds dads and sons share with the game of golf.

And the Last shall be First

As I mentioned in my previous post, my wife of 8 years and 364 days told me I needed to get in some more GOLF as part of my HHH training.

"You need to play more golf."

That's what my lovely wife, Emily, told me today. And I couldn't agree with her more.

The Halfway Hike

Fifty-four holes of golf with....one golf ball!!! Yes, I played 3 rounds in a little under 6 hours last Friday morning with a single Callaway HX Hot golf ball.

The 2 cent Pledge

My 5 year-old son, Chase, has been going to the driving range and putting green with me for about 2 years now off and on.

Shave or Save

Yes. I have stumbled (or should I say stubbled) into gimmicky fundraising territory.
