Turtle Creek Club

Turtle Creek Club was chartered in 1969 by four visionary founders from Skokie Illinois who engaged the services of well-respected golf course architect Joe Lee to design and oversee the construction of our 18 hole golf course. Laid out on approximately 150 acres in what was known as the Hunt Club property, the course opened for play in 1970 with 38 members. In 1971, the founders sold the course and club to the membership, making it certain that the club would stay private and not fall into the control of property developers. Over the next 45 years, Turtle Creek Club has become known as one of the finest private golf clubs in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Now with five sets of tees, from 5302 yards to 6831 yards, the golf course provides an outstanding golfing experience to players of all ages and playing abilities. Under a planned 2016 lengthening and modernization of the course, directed by up and coming architect Kipp Schulties, the experience will be enhanced further for golfers of all levels. One hallmark of Turtle Creek Club is continuous improvement. In 2006, the 1986 era clubhouse and dining room were updated and improved with a new grille room overlooking the 9th green, providing a warm and welcoming place for members to gather. In 2009, the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms, together with the golf shop, and business offices were remodeled and refurbished to complete the updating of the main building. Earlier, a new and more efficient cart and club storage building was completed replacing the original facility. In 2003, the entire course was regrassed, including reshaping the greens and bunkers, along with the installation of an up-to-date irrigation system. More recently, the driving range was extended and widened to accommodate more and better golfers. In 2014, the short game practice area was expanded and improved to complete the practice facilities. Another standout feature of Turtle Creek Club is an active, friendly and congenial membership composed of year-round retirees, younger local families and professional people, together with a group of seasonal members escaping from the cold north in the winter. The dining room, grille room, card room and library accommodate the many social events, dinners, dances and card games. A typical week offers formal and informal gin rummy games and tournaments, bridge and sanctioned duplicate bridge tournaments, as well as a book club. Structured golf events are also run by able and energetic golf staff and men’s and women’s golf associations. With the newly constructed outside dining facility, aka Tiki, overlooking the 9th and 18th greens, we provide a real taste of South Florida living for post-game relaxation. Wild life and beautiful views abound here. With a growing and active membership, Turtle Creek Club will continue its tradition as the best place in the area to play golf and socialize with friends both old and new
