The Myelin Project

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on improving the quality of life for those living with all forms of adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) through research, advocacy and family support. The Myelin Project was established in 1989 by Augusto (pictured on right) and Michaela Odone for their son Lorenzo who suffered from adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a rare genetic myelin disease that deteriorates myelin in the brain and central nervous system. Although not medical doctors, the Odones developed a treatment, ""Lorenzo's Oil"" now adopted throughout the world."

Why I am hiking

Matthew Reimer, one of my son Brady's best friends was diagnosed with ALD in 2011. He and his family are the inspiration for my first hundred hole hike.

Finally gonna do it

Well, I have been thinking about doing this for several years now, since I first caddied for Brandon Urban on his first HHH.
