The Play List

Many years ago now (2002), one of last year’s hikers (Tim Bert) and I created our Top 100 “listening” song lists…in other words, what would be the 100 songs that we would want to listen to over and over. To make it more diverse and more challenging, we added a rule that no artist could have more than three entries on the list. It was quite the fun and time consuming exercise to whittle the list down to 100 songs, and there were some artists with heated competition for the maximum three slots. We repeated the exercise in 2010 coming up with our Next 100 with the reveal occurring on our trip to Bandon Dunes that year. With my Hike two weeks away, I have created a Hundred Hole Hike Play List. I applied the no-more-than-three-entries-per-artist rule here. Several of my Top 100 and Next 100 make appearances here. And some of these will make my Second Next 100 when we get around to that. For the most part, I will let you the reader make the connections between these songs and the Hike. Some of these songs were chosen simply for their title. Some were chosen for inspiration or to fire me up. Others have a more personal or subtle connection. Without further adieu, Break80 Records presents the Hundred Hole Hike Play List…
