The Halfway Hike

Fifty-four holes of golf with....one golf ball!!! Yes, I played 3 rounds in a little under 6 hours last Friday morning with a single Callaway HX Hot golf ball. I had a little bit of a scare on the 53rd hole when I flirted with the out of bounds down the left side of the par 5 dogleg. But it ended up in play and I went on to tap in for par. I think that bodes well for me keeping the ball in front of me during my 100 Hole Hike excursion. I shot an 86, 89 (which include a six putt on the ninth hole with an evil pin location) and a 96 where the wheels came off on a couple of holes.

I also spoke with the owner and nailed down some details for a BBQ fundraiser at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be $15 for a plate of food including hamburgers/hot dogs/ veggie burgers, potato salad, baked beans, chips, and watermelon. There will also be some raffle items and a 50/50 chip in contest. All proceeds will go toward Angels Making a Difference. And with the clubhouse being right next to the 7th and 9th greens and 1st and 8th tee boxes, the support should help keep me going at that point.
