FORE! Please read before considering a pledge

I hope you consider making a pledge to my Hundred Hole Hike campaign. I am making the lofty goal of trying to raise $10,000 for The Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation (for more info about this organization please read my earlier post). Why am low when you can aim high, right?

Anyways, a few items I'd like to point out before you make a pledge. Pledges are simply that: pledges. After the event, I will follow up and instruct you how to send money to the organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Please discuss with your tax advisor if you have any questions about this :).

To make a pledge, click on the "Pledge" icon above and follow the instructions. NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL! I'd appreciate any participation you feel comfortable with. There are 3 types of pledges you can make.

1) A lump sum donation. IE: I will give you $500 for doing this event.

2) A per/hole donation. IE: I will give you $5/hole you complete. FYI: I intend to play 108 holes of golf. I reserve the right to play more or less depending on weather, sunlight, my physical condition, etc. I would say I'm more like MJ than D-Rose, so to the extent there's motivation to play more holes, count on me being out there...

3) A performance based donation. IE: I will give you $50/birdie, $10/par, etc. If you'd like to do this, please write it in the comment box on the pledge page. I'd greatly appreciate any and all donations; however, it would be fun to have some extra motivation out there, especially during the later rounds. You can still give a lump sum or per hole donation AND a performance based donation. In case those are wondering, I am an 8 handicap. I'll probably make 1 birdie, 7 pars, 8 bogeys, and 2 double bogeys or worse per round. At the time of this blog, I've never seen the course and currently have a bum ankle, so those projections are subject to change.

As for me? I need to put some motivation on myself to stay focused and play well. As such, I will be donating $5 for every bogey, $10 for every double bogey, and $20 for every triple bogey or worse. Also, I've never made an eagle in my life, so if I make one during the Hundred Hole Hike, I'll DOUBLE my donation! Trust me, making an eagle is priceless to me, and I'd enjoy nothing more than writing a fat check to DMSF!

Again, thank you so much for considering a donation to my Hundred Hole Hike Campaign. Please email me if you have any questions about making a pledge. My email address is
